Trick or Sleep!?!?

We spent a lot of time debating what we were going to do for Halloween. (Actually the day before Halloween since Norman did trick or treating on Friday.) We talked about taking Liam trick or treating with some friends, going to the mall or just staying home and handing out candy. After a long and exhausting day at school that ended with a Fall Festival, we (or I) decided it would be best to stay home and hand out candy. After dinner we dressed Liam up in his costume to take some pics and to help greet the trick or treaters. Here's our precious elephant wishing we'd let him eat some candy.
Some cutie elephant patootie!
After taking lots of pictures outside, we headed in to play and wait for the kiddos to come! This picture cracks me up! I caught him in the middle of rolling over and he looks like he's stuck because of his costume!!!
Playing with Mommy....
and Daddy...Still no trick or treaters.
Back outside to check the streets for the tricksters...still none in sight.
Uh-oh! It looks like the elephant is starting to get tired and it's only 6:30!!!
After he crashed in the floor, we figured it was bath time and then it was off to dream world for the little guy. We stayed up and handed out candy to about 20 kids. Some were cute and some were...not! (I'm referring to the creepy costumes...not the kids!!!!!)

I hope everyone had a happy and safe Halloween!!!!!

Under Construction

As you may have noticed (if you are one of my very few followers!!!) I have been changing the background to my blog a lot lately. I was trying to find the perfect one for free and was not satisfied with any of the backgrounds/templates I tried. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a new template, so I did some research and found A Blog in a Box. For $5.49 I was able to get everything I needed for a new blog design. The only con is that I had to set it up myself which took a little time. But...it was worth the time. I love the final product and did I mention I only spent $5.49?!?!

Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

My mom and dad came down today to deliver an adorable peacoat and OSU outfit they bought for Liam last weekend. Since they were in town we decided to go to the pumpkin patch. Our trip started out a little cold, because it was so windy. After being there for a little while it warmed up and was the perfect day to be outside. Here are some pics from the day....be prepared for some serious cuteness and probably way too many pics!
This picture cracks me up! My dad was petting the cows to get Liam's attention and the cow decided to lick my dad's shirt. Ewwww!!!!!
Liam loved watching the ducks!
He loved the turkey's gobble too!
Waiting for the hayride...
Enjoying the hayride. Liam would not keep his hands out of the hay or the hay out of his mouth.
And now for the cutest elephant ever...I was a little worried that Liam would not like his costume because he hates having anything on his head, but after a little bit he totally adjusted. I was also a little worried when the costume pics began and he would not stay in one place!
But, he finally relaxed and gave us some sweet smiles.
Happy, little elephant...
"Mama, I want this one!"
I hope everyone had a great weekend. I know I sure did!!!!!!!

A Baby Divided

...or shall we say confused? Our poor baby has no idea why every Saturday there is a rush to change his clothes when he hasn't thrown up, spat up, had a blow out or splashed food all over himself. Today Liam started out the day wearing crimson. Here he is keeping an eye on his daddy while his daddy is yelling at the tv....do you see the terrified look on his face?
Daddy tried to reassure him that everything was okay.
It didn't work. Liam knew his daddy's team had lost to the Texas Longhorns and that daddy would be grumpy the rest of the day.
After the OU game was over, mommy was quick to change Liam into some orange and black. GO POKES!!!
Liam didn't even make it to kick-off before going to bed for the night, but I know when he wakes up he will be so happy to hear that mommy's team won!

How 'bout them Cowboys!?!?!

Out of Retirement!

Yesterday's news of Garth coming out of retirement was HUGE news in my world, because you know how much I love Garth Brooks! I would even go as far as to say that I used to be obsessed with Garth. Growing up my room was plastered with Garth pictures. I even had a life-sized cut out of him hanging on my closet door that my dad helped me dig out of the dumpster at McDonalds....obsessed! As I've matured I have grown out of the obsession. Now I just love Garth as an artist and performer. I have been lucky enough to see him in concert 3 times and actually met him 6 years ago while doing a little Christmas shopping in Tulsa. Heres how the encounter went...

My mom and I were in an OU/OSU store when I saw him looking at OSU sweatshirts. I couldn't believe my eyes, so I ran to my mom and said, "Mom! I think it's Garth!" I then grabbed her arm and pulled her to the rack where he was shopping. All I could do was stare at this larger than life man who was now staring back at me. He then stuck his hand out toward me and said, "Hi. I'm Garth Brooks." I seriously almost fainted. It really was him! All I could think of to say was, "I'm Amanda and I've been in love with you since I was 12 years old!" He laughed and said, "How old are you now?" We continued to talk for 10 minutes or so about shows I'd been to, Stillwater, Eskimo Joes, family, my (at the time) fiance, my career and many other things. Garth actually thanked me for being such a great fan and then we said our good-byes. Mom and I got in line to pay when Garth came to the front of the store. He then chose my line and started up another conversation with my mom and I. To this day I am so impressed by Garth's willingness to take time from his day to make me feel like I wasn't just another fan, but someone he appreciated and was interested in knowing.

So...back to the point...Garth is coming out of retirement to perform a series of shows in Sin City at The Wynn. Anyone up for a trip to Vegas?!?!?!

The Flirty Thirty

I am officially the big 3-0. I'm still a little unsure of how I feel about not being in my twenties anymore, but what choice do I have but to face my thirties head on?!?! Sooooo...I celebrated turning 30 for four days straight!!! Four days of eating, spending time with family and friends, and four days of David getting up at night AND in the morning with Liam!!!

On Thursday, my actual birthday, my class gave me tons of wonderful gifts and then after recess surprised me with a cookie cake and Dr. Pepper party! YUM!!! I have a great pic of me, my class, and my cookie cake, but due to student privacy, I've decided not to post their precious faces for the whole world to see, so here's a pic of just me with my cookie cake. :) (In case you can't tell...it was a double layer cookie cake with tons of icing. We finished it off last night! It was d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s!)
After school on Thursday I rushed home to get ready to head to dinner with David. Supreme Court Justice Kennedy was in town and we were invited to the dinner where he was speaking. We sat in the back during dinner and two of the Secret Service guys stood right behind us laughing the entire time, making the night a little more interesting. The first two speakers were blah. The food was ok. The wine was great. Unfortunately we had to leave before Justice Kennedy was finished speaking, so that we could relieve David's sister from babysitting. Thanks again Layna for driving down to hang out with our little man! Here we are ready for dinner (Liam's ready for bed)...not sure why this pic is so bright.
On Saturday OU had a big game, so being the wonderful wife that I am, I put Liam in his new OU Jersey. (Yes, I purchased it...in an attempt to distract David when I walked in the house with all of the packages I had from Campus Corner!) Immediately after putting the OU shirt on Liam, I picked him up and..........BLECK........he spat up all over it! Is this kid a genius or what!?!?
Unfortunately the mess was easy to clean, so Liam ended up wearing those colors the rest of the night.
To continue my birthday celebration, my best friend, Skye, and her husband, Thad, came into town and we headed to The Mont for some food and swirls. I love, love, love The Mont. I especially love the fact that when eating outside, Mr. Liam is a very happy boy! Here are my two favorite boys dressed up in their crimson and creme....ready for some exciting OU football.
Liam paying close attention to Thad....look at the mess on his sleeve. He would not keep it out of his mouth while I was feeding him his dinner!
Aunt Skye and Liam... chewing on his sleeve. Don't you love Skye's new hair?!?!
Mommy and Liam... refusing to sit still for a picture.
Skye and I...Thanks for coming to OK to celebrate with me. We had too much fun!!!
On Sunday my parents came down for my birthday lunch. We went to Chillis, ate way too much food and spent a little time shopping.
So...there ya have it....four days and 2 pounds later....the big "Flirty Thirty" celebration of '09. (It took 4 days to gain the two pounds. I wonder how long it will take to lose the 2?!?!)

Some cute "rejects"

As I mentioned in a previous post, Liam was not in a good mood the day Casey took his pictures. Here are some of the pics where Liam was being difficult...oddly enough, some of them are my favorites!!! In this first pic, there is something very interesting on the cement. Liam would not look at the camera, and then he started to crawl away. (Yes, you read correctly...Liam is a crawler! He started on a Friday morning making it only about 2 feet at a time. By Saturday Liam was all over the house! He is into everything and is having so much fun with his new found freedom!)
Liam did not like being in the grass as you will see in the next 3 pictures. (Of course two days later at a football game, Liam loved being in the grass!!!) This might be my second favorite from the day! I love that sad, little expression he is making!!!

He threw a fit if any part of his body touched that green stuff on the ground!
He also decided on this day that he did not like wearing a hat.

He managed to get it off of his head anytime I put it on, so I tried putting it on backwards...he was NOT having it!!!

And then Casey managed to get this precious picture...........
Could this kid get any cuter!?!?!?

9 Month Pics

My wonderful friend, Casey, took Liam's 9 month pics a couple of weeks ago on OU's campus. It was a beautiful day and we had so much fun, even though my little guy (and Casey's!) weren't so happy about being out in the sun taking pics. Liam would not smile at all, but the pictures still came out super cute. Here are a few of my favorites...
Liam was going through a phase of sucking in his bottom lip...and that is all he wanted to do during the shoot. I don't know how Casey did it, but she ended up getting only a few where he is "sucking it in!" It's a pretty cute expression...don't ya think?!?!
This is my favorite from the day!!!!!!
Of course, mommy wanted some pics with her boy before we headed to Campus Corner for some shopping! Man, I love this kid!

Thanks, Aunt Casey, for once again taking wonderful pics, being patient enough to work with Liam on one of his grumpiest days ever, and for being my shopping partner for the day!!! We must shop again...SOON! :)
