Waiting on a Woman

Friday was Land Run at my school, so I went to work in overalls and a bandana. Cute outfit for the Land Run, but not so much for dinner with the Jackson's. So, when Liam and I got home, it was a rush for me to get changed and ready for dinner. This is what Liam did while I was getting ready..............
Doesn't he look annoyed?!?! With me as his mama, this boy is going to spend a lot of time waiting on a woman before he ever even has his first girlfriend! Ha!!!

Liam got real creative Saturday and found a way to see Maudie in the backyard! Isn't he clever? It scared me, though and the box went straight to the trash.
Liam loves putting on our shoes. I think he feels like a big boy when he gets the shoes on himself. Look at that little belly in this one...I think the Pediasure is doing it's job!
We left Maudie outside while we ran some errands on Sunday, so we put some water out for her. When we got home, Liam was so excited to find a bowl of water in his backyard. He played in it forever. Who knew that something so simple could be so entertaining to a 16-month old!
He was soaked when the bowl was finally empty, but seeing this grin made cleaning up the mess totally worth it!
I'm going to leave you with this pic of Maudie. Doesn't she have the sweetest face?!?!?!
Hope you have a great week!!!!!!

Stretching

Last night I sat down to stretch before leaving for my run. Liam decided he wanted to be a part of my routine and plopped himself right down in between my legs. He made it a little hard for me to stretch properly, but he also gave us a good laugh. (I apologize for subjecting you to the extreme glare that is coming from my way-too-white-to-be-photographing legs!)
I am on the second week of the Couch to 5k program and I am loving it! It hasn't been as easy as I'd thought it would be. I had hoped my that body would remember "how to run" even though it's been two years, but no such luck. Each workout is a challenge. I really hope to run a 5k in May or June, and then a half by the end of 2010. I've always said that I want to run a half...I've just never had the guts to do it. Putting this goal of running a half this year in writing kind of scares me. It seems like much more of a commitment than just saying it out loud for some reason.

This is completely off topic, but has anyone ever tried the Lemon-Berry slush at Sonic??? If not, go now to your local Sonic and try one. I tried a friend's today, and one sip wasn't enough. I had to stop on my way home and get my very own large Lemon-Berry slush. It is so good...the perfect mix of sweet and sour! (Don't make the same mistake I did and check the nutritional information when you get home, though. I promise you....you won't like what you see. Ha!)

My changing boy

For months I tried to get Liam to wear a hat. I'd put one on him and it would be off in 0.3 seconds. That is, until he saw his daddy wear a hat a couple of weeks ago. Suddenly wearing his Ranger's hat is the coolest thing ever! Over and over again he brings me his hat, I put it on him and he runs off as quickly as possible to show David his hat, clapping for himself the entire way. The very first thing he did Sunday morning was run to get his hat. I like this change. My baby looks cute in his hat.

Liam has always wanted to sit in my lap while watching Yo Gabba Gabba. He has always ran up to me as soon as he heard the theme music and would reach for me to pick him up. Then he discovered his rocking chair. He loves his rocking chair and now prefers to sit in it while watching YGG. I don't like this change. It breaks my heart.

Is he really growing up right before my eyes? Could time please slow down...just a little bit?!?!

Maudie and Me

These two are becoming such good friends, and I couldn't be happier about it! They play together all the time. Maudie has even entertained Liam long enough for me to cook dinner several times. She is the perfect addition to our family!!!!!!!

Weekend Recap and an Overload of Pics

We had such a fun weekend that I couldn't help but to take a ton of pictures. Here are some of my favorites...

Liam loves to play in Maudie's crate. He could entertain himself for hours just opening and closing the door. You can really tell just how skinny he is in this picture!
The weather was so beautiful all weekend, so we totally took advantage and spent as much time outside as possible. Liam loves to play with his sidewalk chalk, especially taking it out of the container and then putting it back in the container. He did do a little drawing this time, though.
When we're out front, Liam always makes a mad dash for the street. One of us always runs after him and chases him back up to the house. I think we may have turned it into a game. Oops!
Sunday afternoon we went to Sabrie's birthday party. We had so much fun! Sabrie is Skye's niece. She is one of my favorite little girls in the world, along with her little sister, Paisley. Liam loves Paisley and she is so good with him! As soon as we finished eating, we decided to go over to the play area. Paisley grabbed Liam's hand and they took off together.
Liam was quick to spot this ball and went right to it. Paisley didn't understand why he wanted to play with a ball and tried to redirect his attention. It didn't work and Liam ended up kicking the ball around with Skye.
Sabrie, the birthday girl, turned 7. Isn't she beautiful?!?!
These two boys melt my heart.
Liam was so excited when he spotted the cake! He loved it!!!
Paisley was so sweet and shared her chair. When Liam was having a hard time getting into the chair, Paisley picked him right up and put him in it. It was hilarious!!!
Liam and Daddy went for a walk on the baseball field and found this ball. It's pretty old and tattered, but that didn't bother Liam. He was so excited to show me what he had found.
These two play so well together! Paisley agreed to sit on the merry go round with him so that he wouldn't fall off. They look like they're having a conversation in this picture!
Aunt Skye decided it would be fun to take Liam up this slide. He loved it!
One time wasn't enough. Skye ended up going several times and I went a couple of times.
If we weren't quick enough to get to the slide steps, Liam would attempt them on his own. He never got past one step, but his attempt made for a super cute picture!
And then it was Daddy's turn to take him up the slide. Yep, Liam is clapping because he's so excited about going down the slide again!
I just knew Liam would throw a fit when we left the park, but he didn't. He handled it really well and feel right to sleep when we headed back to The City. He got in a looooong nap on the way due to an accident on 35 and was ready to play when we got home. He went straight to his Mega Blocks and fell into the box! No worries, though...he just kept on playing!
On a different note, I accomplished two major things today. I completely finished my last National Board entry. It is ready to be mailed tomorrow! And, I started the Couch to 5k program that I've wanted to start for months. It felt so good! I haven't ran since I got pregnant with Liam. I really want to get back into shape so that maybe I can have a normal pregnancy next time. Here's to hoping!!!

Have a great Monday night!!!!!

It's time for some serious catch up!

Wow! It's been a long time. I didn't realize how long it had been until my mom said something to me about it this weekend. So....here are the highlights of the last two months...

It snowed. A lot. I was out of school for four days (six if you count the weekend), so I got to hang out with my boys! Liam loved watching the snow fall.
Once the snow finally stopped, we headed outside to give Liam his first experience in the snow. He wasn't happy about it, as you can probably tell in this pic!
Nana came to visit! Liam hung out with Dada while Nana and I headed to An Affair of the Heart and spent way too much money!!!
Over Spring Break we stayed several days in Bartlesville. While we were there, Liam discovered ketchup. (Thanks, Papa!) He loves it and I must say, I hate the mess (and the smell)!
We went to the Jenk's Aquarium. Liam was so excited!
We got to go in a building that isn't open to the public to get a sneak peak of what goes on behind the scenes. Thanks, Brian! While we were there, we got to see Loggerhead Turtles! If you've read The Last Song, you can understand how excited I was to get so close to one of these turtles!!!!
Liam loved pointing at the fish.
Checking out the starfish with Dada...
My favorites! I had to include this pic because I thought these creatures were so beautiful!
While in Bartlesville, we got a new Boxer puppy, Maudie. Liam and Maudie were instantly best friends!!! He loves rolling around in her bed.
And laughing at her!
Meet Maudie. I've never had a puppy or a big dog, so I wasn't sure how I'd feel about her. But, I have fallen in love with this sweet baby girl!
These two play all the time! I actually asked the sitter if Liam has been biting at all, because he bites Maudie all the time. GROSS!!! Luckily, he hasn't bitten a human yet! Haha!!!
We went to the Easter egg hunt at Sam Noble. There were so many people! Liam ended up with one egg, and we were so thankful he got at least one. There were so many kids who didn't get any. Liam was so excited about his egg that he took it to bed that night.
The Easter Bunny came!!! He brought some much needed clothes and shoes, plus a Yo Gabba Gabba plate, cup, bowl and sports bottle.
Since the Sam Noble egg hunt was a lot crowded, we had another hunt here at the house with Nana and Papa. It took Liam a bit to figure out what to do. At first he would pick up an egg, spot another egg and throw down the one he had picked up. He eventually figured out that he was supposed to put the eggs in his bucket.
He was so proud when he'd find an egg!
After the egg hunt, we headed inside to play with the bubble gun Papa got him. He loves the bubbles!!!
I think that about wraps it up. Now that I have my National Boards finished and state testing is almost over, I'll be a better blogger....PROMISE! :)
