My Dancing Cupcake

Liam loves to dance and when his grandma, aunt and kind-of uncle came on Friday, he made them all "Get up and dance!"
And dance.......
And dance.....Bryan is such a great sport! I think he would have danced all night long if Liam would have wanted him to.
After dinner, we decided to make cupcakes. Liam had so much fun...almost as much fun as the adults!
Look at that mess! It took everything in me to not let my OCD take over and clean up the messes immediately.
And I'm so glad I didn't clean, because Liam had the best time making those messes.
The cupcakes were delicious!
We spent the day on Saturday shopping and got to go on a double date Saturday night while Grandma spent some one-on-one time with Liam. We had such a great time! Thank you Grandma for taking care of Liam so we could spend the night out with Shalayna and Bryan!!!
Can anyone tell me why my pictures are so blurry when I upload them to blogger? They look great in iPhoto, and when they are clicked on, but when they are on this page, they look so blurry!

Liam's New Toy

David and I decided to forgo getting one another a Christmas or Valentine's gift this year in anticipation of the release of the iPad2. We managed to get one the very first day they were released and we were SO excited! Within an hour of arriving home with the iPad, Liam had already learned to say, "Liam's iPad" and was able to turn the screen on and start one of his shows!
Since then he has learned to open and play with several other apps. It's crazy how fast he learns....I think he knows how to use the iPad better than I do!!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

Liam was not in the mood for pictures this morning. Not even after I bribed him with a cookie.
This is the best smile he would give me. Stinker!
I mentioned in my last post as a recommendation to not take your toddler shopping immediately after leaving the zoo. Here's why...

After a few hours at the zoo and a quick trip to the doctor, I decided to stop into the Shoe Dept. that was right by the doctor. At this point, Liam was in a great mood. We walked around for 5 minutes or so looking at shoes for me when he spotted one of those things used to measure feet. (Why is he so drawn to those things?) I let him play with it while I finished looking. This is when things got bad.

I told him that we needed to put the measuring thing down to go look at shoes for him. He refused. So, I picked him up and he continued to hold on to the measuring thing until it slipped out of his hand and slammed onto the floor. We walked away as quickly as possible.

I put him back down once we reached the toddler shoes and he immediately spotted the Toy Story shoes. He told me he wanted them, and I told him that we needed to measure his feet first.

He looked at me.

He thought about it.

And he ran away with one Toy Story shoe tucked in his arm like a football.

He made it half way across the store before he finally tripped and fell. I guess he knew he had done something wrong because he froze. Right there, laying in the middle of the aisle in Shoe Dept., he froze with huge eyes.

I was so embarrassed, mad, shocked....so I scooped him up, put the Toy Story shoe on the nearest shelf and rushed his little butt out to the car, all while sternly saying, "I was going to buy those for you, but there's no way I will since you acted like that."

He cried the whole way home about those darn shoes.

So, lesson learned.......never go shoe shopping with a toddler who spent hours at the zoo in the sun and is exhausted. I know I'll never make that mistake again!!!

Spring Break So Far

I am having the best time with Liam this week! I love being home with him. Here's what we have been up to.......

*Liam discovered a new use for my diffuser.....a hat! His imagination is really starting to go into overdrive, and it's so much fun!
Liam learned to put a bobby pin in his hair after watching me put one in my bangs. He even started by putting the tip of the bobby pin in his mouth to open it just like I do.
And then he put it in his hair and yelled, "I did it!"
Liam has been doing some serious work around the house. I'm not sure what's wrong with this lamp, but he has been working on it the last few days!
I guess his nose needed a little work done to it also....do we have a future plastic surgeon on our hands?!?!
Today we went to the zoo with Kaitlyn and Amy. It's funny that they're both wearing shirts with zoo animals on them....two of the zoo animals we didn't get to see. :(
Liam was a little nervous with the gorillas right behind us and spent a lot of his time in my arms.
Kaitlyn sure wasn't scared! She kept saying, "Come here," to the gorillas.
I'm actually taking Liam to his sitter's house tomorrow. They're having "dental day" with a dental hygienist and a moon bounce. I don't want him to miss out on fun at the sitters. It will be the perfect opportunity for me to get some cleaning and grading done.....fun times. Ha!!!

Weekend fun

We had such a big weekend! The fun began on Thursday with my Teacher of the Year reception. My co-workers, and more importantly friends, worked so hard to make everything perfect. The theme was Eskimo Joes. One of the teachers knew the story of how David and I started dating while we worked at Eskimo Joes, and thought it would make for the perfect theme. She was spot on!!!
The same friend made this adorable sign. I can't believe how creative she is!
It is tradition for the ladies who teach in the same grade level as the Teacher of the Year to present a gift. I love the quilt that was made for me using Townsend shirts. All of my students signed the back of the quilt. It is just perfect!
I was able to invite my family to the reception. I hadn't seen Liam in almost a week (he was staying with my parents while David recovered from surgery), so I was SO excited to see him when he showed up at my school!
My mom, dad and grandma also came to the reception. I am so thankful they could make it!
This is my sweet friend, Cheri. The creative one. She is one of the sweetest, most caring, funniest people I know. I am so thankful to have her as a friend!
Saturday night David and I were invited to a cocktail party. We decided to go even though David isn't completely healed.
The party was a ton of fun! We saw some friends that we hadn't seen in a while. It was great to catch up with them!
