Big winner and some family pics

I won my first bloggy giveaway!!! Jenna from Jenna's Journey was giving away this cute necklace from Forever 21...and I won!!! I was so excited. I can't wait to wear it. Thanks, Jenna!

Last week some good friends of ours, Chris and Tif, took some family pics for us. You can get a sneak peak on their blog, The Pirtle Family. I love how the pictures turned out and I can't wait to put them up on our walls!!! I must say that when you have my adorable son and my handsome husband as subjects...it's not too hard to make a picture look good! ;) Thanks, Chris and Tif, for taking the time to shoot some pics of us! You are amazing and should consider ditching your careers to begin new ones as photographers!!!!!!!!

Happy 6 months, Liam!!!

It's so hard to believe that 6 months have past since the day Liam was born! Everyday that passes, I love this little guy more and more! Sometimes I feel like my heart could just explode!

Liam is starting to be able to sit up for 30 seconds or so if, and only if, his hands are in front of him to help him balance. He is so proud of himself when he does it.
I just love this outfit he got from the Easter Bunny. It says, "Super Baby". I think it fits his personality! ;)
Liam has recently become extremely interested in his toys. Next to his bouncer, this Baby Einstein ball is his favorite. I love the face he is making in this picture. Anytime he tries to concentrate on doing something, he puckers his lips. You can just see the wheels turning!!
Still holding onto his ball.
Some other things Liam has been up to:
  • He loves squash, sweet potatoes, apple sauce and pears. Bananas and green beans are okay.
  • He hates peas so much that he gags himself as soon as they go into his mouth. He also hates peaches.
  • He reaches for everything.
  • He is obsessed with Aquafina water bottles. When he spots one, he can't take his eyes off of it. He will scream until the bottle is in his hands.
  • He loves the color green.
  • He is still not a big eater and weighs just over 13 pounds.
  • He wears a size 1 diaper and still wears mostly 0-3 month clothes.
  • He loves to pull Ross's hair and laughs when Ross yelps.
  • His eyes are still changing colors. Somedays they look blue, but on others they look green, sometimes gray, and sometimes brown.
  • He loves to stand while holding onto our fingers.
  • He still hates tummy time and doesn't stay on his tummy for long before he rolls onto his back.
  • He is spoiled rotten! He totally knows how to play mommy and daddy. He has us wrapped around his itty bitty finger!!! And most of the time....we love it!!!

What a weekend!

This past weekend was crazy, so crazy that I didn't have time to take many pictures! My mom came in town on Thursday to help me prepare for my best friend, Skye, and her fiance, Thad's, couple's shower that we hosted at our house. We spent all day Friday buying food and all of Friday evening cooking.

Late Friday night, we realized that we needed more spinach for the dip we were making, so David and I headed out to Homeland, which is about a mile from our house. About halfway there, we ran into some major rain and wind. I called my mom back at our house and asked her to check on the weather. When we got to Homeland, David dropped me off at the front door and went to park the car, only I couldn't get into Homeland, because the doors were locked. I turned around to see David speeding back towards me. After he dropped me off, he was listening to the radio and found out that we were under a tornado warning and that the circulation was directly over Homeland and was moving towards our house. I frantically got back into the car and called my mom, who I couldn't get ahold of, because she was calling me. We safely made it home and found mom and Liam taking cover in our bathroom. Thankfully the tornado didn't touchdown until it was further outside of town, so there was minimal damage.

Saturday was David's birthday, so we went to lunch at one of his favorites, La Baguette. After lunch, we headed back to our house to prepare for the shower, which was a blast. (How unselfish is my husband to voluntarily give up his birthday for a shower!?!?!)

This is a picture of the happy couple opening gifts.
And this is how Liam spent his time during the shower...sleeping in Nana's arms. He was worn out from the crazy storm the night before!!!
Skye and Thad's wedding is going to be in Florida. I can't wait! It's going to be so much fun!!! My parents are begging us to leave Liam with them while we are gone, but I just don't know if I can do it! We're going to be gone for almost a full week. I know the car trip would be easier, we would pack less stuff and we'd be able to do a lot more in Florida, but I don't know that I'll be able to enjoy myself as much as I would as if Liam was with us. Has anyone had any experiences that will make our decision of whether or not to take Liam to Florida with us any easier?!?!

Lunch

Today Liam and I met David for lunch at Hideaway Pizza. I love that place! Since we were meeting David, I decided to have Liam wear this cute onesie...

Ha! Our good friend, Annie, made this onesie and about 15 others with cute little sayings on them. So much fun!

And he's out!!!

This is Liam loving his dinner of squash...

His belly is starting to get full...

His belly is so full that he's thinking about taking a nap...

And he's OUT!!!

Our "Future President"...falling asleep on the job!!!

Memorial Day Weekend

We started the weekend by moving. After lots of thought and consideration, we decided to rent for two more years (while David gets his Masters), because we aren't sure if we'll stay here when he finishes the program. We found a beautiful, brand new house that we are renting from the builder. Since we are renting from the builder, we were able to sign a lease with a purchase option at the end, so that if we end up staying in Norman, we won't have to look for a house to buy. We'll just buy this one. I love, love, love it! I'll post some pics once I have everything in order. With an infant in the house...who knows when that will be!!! Thank you mom and dad for helping us move and helping take care of Liam throughout the moving process!

On Memorial Day, we went to a cookout at my good friend, Karen's, house. Karen has a beautiful pool in her backyard, so we thought it would be the perfect time to try out Liam's swimsuit. Although he looked adorable in his suit, he hated the water and never got more than his feet wet!!!

This pic was taken before we tried putting him in the water...still a happy baby!

This is when he started screaming.

Karen tried to calm him to get him further into the water, but he wouldn't stop screaming!

Finally back in mommy's arms and over dry land! Does he look adorable in those shades or what?!?!?

Yummy, yummy!

On the same day David graduated, Liam turned 5 months! He got to celebrate by eating some yummy carrots, although I'm not so sure he thought of it as a celebration!!!

I had to put an OSU bib on him, because I had enough crimson at the graduation! Ha!!!
A few days later, Liam tried some green beans. He LOVED the green beans so much that he tried to eat what was left on his bib! Ha!!!

David is finished with law school!!!

David graduated from OU Law on May 16th! Our weekend was filled with events surrounding the graduation. Here are some highlights of our weekend.

The night before the commencement, the law school hosted a reception for the graduates and their families. My mom and Grandma made it into town in time to go with us. We spent some time touring the law school and then eating some yummy food. This is a pic of our little family sitting at the judge's bench in the Bell Courtroom.
Friday night the 3L class hosted a graduation party at La Luna. David and I had asked my mom months in advance if she would mind keeping Liam at the hotel with her, so that we could go to the party and not worry about getting home at any certain time. Of course, she jumped at the opportunity to have Liam to herself all night long! I don't have any pics from the party, because... I didn't go and David only went for an hour to work the door as the Class Treasurer! We decided to sleep instead of partying!!!! Although I missed Liam the entire night and probably missed out on some fun at the party, it was wonderful to get a full night's sleep!

This is a pic of Liam waiting for his daddy's graduation to start. Please notice that he is wearing an adorable sweater vest over a white polo, which matches the plaid pants he is wearing! (You'll know why I'm pointing this out in a second.)
And the moment David had worked so hard for...getting hooded. (Sorry it's so dark!) I was bursting with pride during the ceremony. I actually teared up thinking about how hard David has worked to get his law degree and how much we had been through to get to this point.
Our family after the graduation. Notice that Liam no longer matches! As soon as the ceremony was over, we took the sweater vest and polo off to surprise David with Liam's onesie that says, "My daddy graduated from OU Law!!!" It was the cutest thing ever! (You have to check out makeaonsie.com!)
My dad, brother, mom and grandma
David's dad, sister, niece, nephew, mom, grandma and sister
CONGRATS, DAVID!!! I am so proud of you!!!

Some recent pics

Sorry I haven't updated lately! When I get home from work, all I want to do is hang out with my little man. I know there are some grandmas out there that are having some serious Liam with drawls, so here are some pics for ya!

Yesterday Liam and I went on a walk with Casey and Owen. Liam borrowed one of Owen's hat, so that he wouldn't get a sunburn. Isn't he adorable in it?!?! I sure think so!

Love those eyes and those lips!!! I could just eat him up!!!

Liam and I sporting our orange...too bad the Cowboys lost their game that day.

This was the day that Liam had his last RSV shot. Once again, he took it like a champ! The home health nurse always came to our house to give him the shot, so we had a "Biohazard" container stored in our cabinets. It was great to finally be able to throw it away! Liam suffered his first stuffy nose and ear ache this last week. I think he's finally feeling better, because he's starting to eat more. He loves his new formula and can't get enough of it!!!

These are the flowers David got me my first week back to work. They were beautiful and made a tough week a little less tough.

My new favorite flower...a Gerber Daisy.

Hanging out in his Bumbo. It's amazing how much he is changing. Everyday that passes, Liam seems a little more alert. His personality is starting to come out, and let me tell ya...he is a talker! (He totally gets that from his daddy!)
